Commercial telephone sellers must register annually with the Attorney General and must honor a three-business-day cancellation right with refunds. Misleading prize and 'free' claims are prohibited.

- Unlawful telemarketing practices are deceptive trade practices (6-1-105(1)(cc)); knowing violations and unregistered selling after notice are class 1 misdemeanors; cell-phone directory and scanning violations carry a private action for $300 to $1,000 plus damages and fees (6-1-305). Private action under the Colorado Consumer Protection Act for injured consumers: greater of actual damages or $500, or treble damages for bad faith, plus fees (C.R.S. 6-1-113).

Registration
